Factory Antique Mall a mega-shopping experience for collectors 

Factory Antique Mall is located just off exit 227 on Interstate 81 in Verona, Va. Verona is located just north of the historic city of Staunton.  The location is also six miles north of the northern junction of I-81 and I-64, allowing less than an hour's travel time from the Charlottesville, Va. area.

Visitors to the Factory Antique Mall can browse among collections of rare art items and Civil War relics, as well as antique furniture, glassware, toys and myriad other collectibles that include Americana memorabilia. Depression glass can be found here, as well as pottery items, old books, sports memorabilia, phonograph records and LPs, antique tools, vintage clothing and even dinosaur eggs and fossils.

All of the shops are on one floor and the facility is friendly to buses and RVs, and there is on on-premises restaurant.

Brinkley says that the growth of Factory Antique Mall has been gradual, and the quality of consistency has been important in its success.  New dealers are coming in along side of others who have been there for years -- who themselves are expanding the size of their booths.

Consistency in the face of a tougher economic climate is what makes the difference, says Brinkley. “We're consistent when times are tough and people are talking about it and things like that going on. And we are still getting people coming through these doors. We still do a good amount of advertising and we stick with it. We're blessed with the location of where we are, right off I-81, conveniently located and we know that we are tourist-driven also.”

Like many Shenandoah Valley tourism attractions, the Factory Antique Mall caters to both visitors to the Valley and local folks. But many visitors hail from places like Northern Virginia, Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Charlottesville.

The Factory Antique Mall is a great place to visit while touring the Shenandoah Valley.  It is a wonderful activity for people staying at many of the fine bed and breakfast accommodations in the area, or while visiting Staunton for a play at the American Shakespeare Center or a trip to the Frontier Culture Museum or Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum.
